• Develop and implement HMI graphics and alarm configurations, ensuring adherence to standards (e.g., ISA 101.1).
• Perform hands-on troubleshooting and tuning of complex control loops to meet process objectives.
• Execute control system modifications through the Management of Change (MOC) process, tracking all scope changes.
• Steward and maintain compliance with relevant standards such as ISA 18.2 and 49 CFR 192/195. 40%
2. System Maintenance & Reliability
• Perform daily system monitoring of control applications and associated infrastructure.
• Steward maintenance activities on existing control systems, including the administration of servers and software version management.
• Troubleshoot complex system and network issues related to process control and instrumentation failures, providing after-hours on-call support as required.
• Lead initiatives to reduce nuisance alarms and participate in "Bad Actor" resolution programs to improve reliability.
• Support IT in disaster recovery planning and maintain backups for critical control systems (DCS/SIS/HMI).
3. Support to Capital Projects
• Serve as a technical resource during all project phases, from design review to commissioning and startup.
• Participate in technical safety reviews, including Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), HAZOPs, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs).
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms to ensure Pembina's standards are maintained.
• Lead alarm development and rationalization for new projects and support operator training during commissioning.
• Prepare human-hour and capital cost estimates for small to medium-sized control system projects.
4. Procedure Development & Documentation
• Develop, document, and update procedures for control system operations and maintenance to ensure they remain current.
• Maintain accurate documentation, including P&IDs, loop sheets, control narratives, and logic diagrams.
• Educate and mentor team members, field technicians, and operations staff on control system functions and best practices.
