SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Join our dynamic team as a Senior Electrical Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) project. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major midstream development in the oil and gas industry, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a 1,443 km electrically heated crude oil export pipeline across Uganda and Tanzania.
Role Overview
Act as Electrical Isolation Authority for the project.
Oversee all electrical maintenance activities along the pipeline, providing technical assurance and operational troubleshooting.
Ensure electrical performance and availability of facilities, compiling relevant data and producing reports with corrective actions.
Prepare periodic or specific reporting of maintenance activities.
Serve as the electrical coordination focal point for external power providers.
Prepare procedures for operations and shutdown.
Participate in operations of electrical incidents or shutdowns, ensuring proper investigation and issuance of technical reports.
Identify optimization opportunities for electrical systems to improve availability and reliability.
Ensure both planned and unplanned electrical equipment maintenance is conducted for optimal performance.
Assist in the evaluation and validation of Site Modification Requests (SMR/RFM).
Participate in commissioning activities and manage punch lists post-handover.
Contribute to the optimization of maintenance plans for critical electrical equipment.
Analyze major malfunctions and failures for critical equipment and contribute to action plans.
Supervise Electrical spare parts management from contractors.
Assist Electrical Engineer in complex troubleshooting and maintenance activities.
Develop and implement Electrical Safety Rules and Procedures ensuring compliance with regulations.
Mentor and train local Engineers and Electrical Technicians, developing professional growth plans.
Evaluate team performance and propose training plans, organizing On-The-Job Training (OJT).
Assist in supervising maintenance service contractor performance.
Skills & Qualifications
Electrical expertise in MV and HV systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical power generation, distribution, control, and management systems.
Proficiency in CMIMS (Computerized Maintenance & Inspection Management System).
Excellent understanding of Electrical international Standards and Safety Rules.
Ability to analyze data, diagnose issues, and implement corrective actions.
Strong organizational capacity with reliability and autonomy.
Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar field.
Certified MV and HV engineer.
15-20 years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, with a minimum of 3-5 years as site Electrical authority.
