SENIOR ENVIRONMENT ENGINEER
Qualifications: (mandatory)
- Bachelor of Science in relevant Engineering discipline from a recognized university.
- A higher degree in Environmental Engineering and/or Project Management is advantageous.
- Membership of a recognized professional engineering or HSE association/institution is preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in environmental engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Experience with Oil & Gas companies or consultants/contractors, preferably in offshore greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Proven experience in managing and coordinating environmental interfaces with third parties and authorities.
- Skilled in developing environmental/HSE specifications and participating in HAZID, EIA, ENVID, HIRA, and QRA studies.
- Strong knowledge of international environmental regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Experience in developing and reviewing key environmental plans (CEMP, WMP, Oil Spill Response Plan).
- Familiarity with environmental impact assessment across project lifecycle (drilling to decommissioning).
- Experience assessing environmental risks in offshore decommissioning and demolition.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead environmental engineering activities for offshore greenfield and brownfield projects.
- Provide technical input across design, fabrication, construction, installation, and commissioning phases.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, standards, and company requirements.
- Support project delivery within schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Provide environmental leadership aligned with Qatar environmental laws and QatarEnergy requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support during EPIC stages and support project completion and handover.
- Define environmental requirements across all project phases including FEED and EPIC.
- Prepare Scope of Work (SOW) and participate in contractor evaluations.
- Contribute to Project HSE Plan and Project Execution Plan.
- Participate in ENVID workshops and maintain Environmental Risk Register (ERR).
- Review and approve environmental studies including EIA, modelling, and survey reports.
- Monitor contractor compliance with environmental requirements through audits and inspections.
- Ensure adherence to ISO 14001:2015 environmental management standards.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies for environmental permits and approvals (e.g., MoECC).
- Support development of local workforce and training of Qatari nationals.
