In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and high?quality execution of all offshore construction phases, working closely with project teams, vessel crews, and operational stakeholders.

You’ll act as the primary offshore authority, coordinating construction operations, managing contractors, monitoring performance, and ensuring all work complies with project specifications, HSE standards, and operational requirements.

If you’re a decisive leader with strong offshore experience—particularly in EPCI, subsea installation, heavy lift, or large?scale offshore construction—this is an excellent opportunity to contribute to complex and high?impact global projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all offshore construction activities and act as the primary offshore focal point for project execution.
  • Oversee installation, fabrication, hookup, and commissioning operations in accordance with project plans and engineering requirements.
  • Coordinate daily construction operations with vessel management, superintendents, deck supervisors, and subcontractor teams.
  • Ensure full compliance with HSE procedures, safe systems of work, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor operational performance, assess risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and quality targets.
  • Manage construction resources offshore, including personnel, tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, permit-to-work assessments, and onboard leadership walkarounds.
  • Report progress, challenges, and operational status to onshore project management.
  • Review engineering documents, method statements, and installation procedures for feasibility and execution readiness.
  • Participate in readiness reviews, vessel mobilizations, and offshore installation planning.
  • Maintain accurate offshore reports, logs, and documentation throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to lessons learned and project close-out reports.
  • Foster a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence across the offshore construction crew.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Marine Operations, or related field.
  • Minimum 10–20 years’ offshore construction experience, including at least 7 years in a senior or lead offshore role.
  • Strong background in offshore EPCI projects, subsea installation, heavy lift, or marine construction.
  • Proven ability to manage multi?disciplinary offshore teams in high?pressure environments.
  • Excellent understanding of offshore installation procedures, marine operations, and construction engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience ensuring compliance with offshore HSE standards (IMCA, OPITO, etc.).
  • Familiarity with offshore construction assets such as installation vessels, construction vessels, barges, and support fleets.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Valid offshore certifications (e.g., BOSIET/FOET, HUET, GWO, as applicable).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working on large integrated offshore projects (pipelines, subsea structures, FPSO tie-ins, jackets/topsides, or similar).
  • Knowledge of digital reporting systems and offshore construction management tools.
  • Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Additional certifications in marine operations, lifting operations, or project management.

Nice to Have

  • Experience on global, multi?vessel installation campaigns.
  • Familiarity with cost, schedule, or risk management in offshore environments.
  • Strong ability to mentor offshore teams and support capability development.
  • Experience contributing to innovation, digitalization, or efficiency initiatives within offshore operations.
