Senior Operations Engineer

Job Dimension

The job holder supports the Operations Lead in the preparation and execution of offshore operations including operational priorities, risk mitigation, and interface management.

  • Preparatory phase (France):


    Review marine assurance plans, mobilization plans, installation procedures, and risk assessments.
    Act as deputy to the Operations Lead in interfaces with the SURF CONTRACTOR and TEPA entities.
    Assist with offshore personnel interviews and general operational preparation activities.
    5 days a week

  • Installation Campaign (Angola rotation):


    Relocate to Angola on rotation to represent the Project in?country, coordinate COMPANY personnel locally, support Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) attendance, vessel and barges mobilization, and contribute to the coordination of daily operational priorities.
    Work 7 days a week during rotation time


Location

  • The position starts in Saint?Quentin?en?Yvelines (France) for 6 months, with potential missions for vessels inspection, integration/acceptance tests… 5 days a week

  • Then perform rotations in Angola during the operation phase, 7 days a week


Accountabilities

  • Maintain good relationship with CTRs

  • Anticipate concerns that can jeopardize the result of the work

  • Good communication and coordination with Project team

  • Respect CPY ethic and compliance rules


Key Responsibilities / Activities

HSE

  • Comply with HSE training requirements for the position

  • Demonstrate exemplary HSE behavior and implement Company rules

  • Ensure safe practices across all project phases and participate in incident reporting and investigation for the Ops perimeter

Engineering

  • Know and enforce appropriate COMPANY / Project Rules and Specifications (CR’s / GS’s / PPS’s), international norms and standards, taking knowledge from them to application to the Project

  • Review Installation Engineering documentation issued by SURF CONTRACTOR

  • Participate in Risk Assessments, while ensuring their implementation throughout the project

  • Review Management of Change Requests from offshore or that happened on Mobilization Phase

Operations

  • Review of Marine Insurance Plan issued by SURF CONTRACTOR

  • Review Vessel Daily Progress Report (DPRs)

  • Acting as interim OPS LEAD

    , covering duties such as leading Ops morning meetings and SURF CTR Ops Manager interface during the lead’s absence

  • Prepare, or review when issued by the SURF CONTRACTOR, SIMOPS and COMOPS

  • Contribute monitoring SURF CONTRACTOR operational performance and highlight deviations, risks, and recovery actions

  • Coordinate COMPANY personnel on board CONTRACTOR vessels and act as back?up Company representative offshore when required, in line with project nomination and authorization requirements

  • Represent the Project locally and in?country coordination with:

    • SURF CONTRACTOR for all aspects of offshore operations, especially Vessel & Barge Mobilization

    • TotalEnergies Angola Affiliate (TEPA) LOG for vessels’ inspection, acceptance, and entry permits

    • TotalEnergies Angola Affiliate (TEPA) DSHAP for PSED nomination and inspections or any related requirement

    • TotalEnergies Angola Affiliate (TEPA) and SURF CONTRACTOR for equipment logistics (onshore/offshore)

    • Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS) for onshore/offshore attendance

    • Local logistics for CPY offshore personnel

    • SPS package (offshore support, tooling/equipment management, delivery)

    • Other packages as required (FOPS, FPSO, PCP…)


Qualifications / Experience Required

  • High technical knowledge in installation engineering and offshore operations

  • Strong experience (12+ years) in offshore campaign execution and/or experience as COMPANY representative on SURF / construction / pipelay vessels

  • Working knowledge of Company referential, IMCA guidance, and offshore HSE practices

  • Strong knowledge of SIMOPS, COMOPS, marine assurance, and offshore readiness processes

  • Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and work in multi?cultural environments

  • Valid BOSIET / HUET

  • Valid TotalEnergies GSES is a +

  • Portuguese and/or French is a +
