This role requires a senior?level Project Engineer with extensive experience delivering large, multi?discipline facility projects under EPC and lump?sum (LSTK) contracting models. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving engineering execution, managing contractors, and ensuring full alignment across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning for major capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead project engineering for large facility projects, ensuring delivery against cost, schedule, scope, and performance commitments.
- Translate business and operational requirements into practical engineering and construction execution strategies.
- Manage EPC/EPCM contractors, ensuring quality of engineering deliverables, progress, and adherence to contract terms.
- Oversee engineering deliverables across all disciplines—process, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, and controls.
- Review and approve drawings, specifications, vendor packages, and technical documentation.
- Support development of project scopes, execution plans, RFPs, RFIs, equipment specifications, and procurement packages.
- Coordinate construction readiness, commissioning planning, and turnover documentation.
- Work closely with project controls to maintain cost estimates, schedules, forecasts, progress measurement, and reporting.
- Apply proactive contract management to minimize claims, manage change, and maintain contractor accountability.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring compliance with safety, technical, and regulatory requirements.
- Support Management of Change (MOC) processes for design and scope adjustments.
- Provide subject?matter expertise in engineering execution, contractor management, and facility design.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of project engineering experience on large industrial or energy infrastructure projects.
- Extensive EPC/EPCM experience, including managing engineering deliverables and contractor performance.
- Direct experience executing projects under lump?sum (LSTK) or hybrid contracting models.
- Strong understanding of engineering sequencing, procurement cycles, fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
- Experience with facility design elements such as pumps, tanks, metering, instrumentation, and pipeline?related equipment.
- Proven ability to coordinate multi?discipline engineering teams and interface with construction and operations.
- Strong communication, problem?solving, and stakeholder?management skills.
- Engineering degree; P.Eng or eligibility preferred.
