About the Role

Working with a major oil and gas global operator, a

s a Senior Project Engineer within the Technical Projects Team, you will lead the development and delivery of small projects executed by the facilities engineering group.

Position: Senior Project Engineer
Location: Perth WA
Roster: 9 days a fortnight, 80 hours in total. 
Contract duration: April 2026 – June 2027

Pay rate: Negotiable

Responsibilities:

  • Lead small capital projects from early development through to handover, including preparing and maintaining cost estimates, CTRs, schedules, engineering deliverables, stakeholder alignment, management of change processes, and supporting site execution.
  • Manage and control change effectively while maintaining clear communication with cross?functional stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams, designers, and external engineering contractors to develop technical solutions and site execution work packs.
  • Prepare and progress decision-support documentation (such as DSPs or KDSs) to secure approvals for small projects.

Experience & qualifications:

  • A Diploma in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • 10+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong background in facilities engineering and project engineering.
  • Proven experience delivering increasingly complex brownfield projects using contractor resources.
  • Experience collaborating with production and maintenance teams on brownfield project scopes.
  • Core skills required: collaboration, project management, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Beneficial skill: broad technical understanding across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Key business interfaces include technical teams, operations, process safety, and supply chain functions.
