Senior Project Engineer - Subsea Cable
Position Overview
This position sits within a cable package team and contributes to the engineering and implementation of offshore cable systems. The team is preparing for project execution and requires an enthusiastic and experienced engineer to join during this critical phase.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the preparation and installation of HVAC offshore cable systems within a multidisciplinary environment under the framework of an EPCI contract.
- Engage with and ensure proper follow-up of contractors and internal experts for project milestones and deliverables.
- Review technical documentation and provide comprehensive comment sheets for project scope.
- Pro-actively report status and progress of assigned activities to relevant stakeholders.
- Support and oversee the execution phase, including follow-up of offshore activities and coordination with client representatives deployed offshore.
- Independently review engineering documentation and ensure adequate quality control over external parties' deliverables.
- Participate in technical meetings, site visits, and short business trips as required to contractors or suppliers.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 8 years of professional experience in the offshore cable industry, including direct involvement in cable lay, burial operations, and associated project works.
- Proven experience in landfall/ beach cable pull-ins, cable installation on structures, preparatory offshore works (PLGR, boulder clearance, object removal, pre-sweeping, dredging), and various offshore construction activities (vessel and ROV operations).
- Strong understanding of survey techniques, GIS software, and route engineering for subsea cable systems.
- Fluent in English; proficiency in Dutch and French is considered an asset.
