Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer
Purpose
The Senior Engineer plays a key role in developing engineering solutions that uphold high levels of safety, performance, and long?term sustainability. This position directly supports project goals and contributes to the organization’s broader strategic objectives by delivering robust, efficient, and reliable designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of engineering activities by selecting suitable methodologies, tools, and procedures to deliver designs that comply with project specifications, global industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Plan, execute, and complete engineering tasks and deliverables within the agreed schedule and allocated budget, ensuring alignment with other disciplines and system interfaces.
- Deliver assigned scopes in full accordance with contractual obligations and internal company processes, including quality, safety, and documentation requirements.
- Incorporate relevant lessons learned and evaluate potential impacts of design changes across interconnected systems or project boundaries.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and external stakeholders to ensure their deliverables meet technical requirements and align with the overall project execution strategy.
- When designated as a Package Engineer, provide technical leadership for the design, procurement, follow?up, and manufacturing of assigned equipment or packages.
- Provide guidance and task leadership to other engineers working within the same scope, supporting their technical development and ensuring consistency in deliverables.
- Where applicable, function as the Discipline Lead for a defined scope, ensuring workflow coordination, quality assurance, and effective communication with project teams.
Job Requirements
Education
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
Experience
- 5–10 years of engineering experience within the oil and gas sector, preferably covering both design and execution phases.
Core Competencies
- Proficiency in engineering design tools and calculation methods
- Detailed engineering design skills
- Understanding of systems engineering principles
- Experience with inspection, testing, commissioning, and performance monitoring
- Knowledge of package engineering and equipment fabrication processes
- Awareness of reliability, operability, and safety considerations in design
- Familiarity with mechanical rotating equipment
- Strong analytical and problem?solving abilities
- Effective planning and task management
