Role Overview
The Senior Site Civil Engineer will play a key role in the delivery of civil works on the Hope Downs 1 Sustaining Project. This position is responsible for providing on-site engineering leadership across bulk earthworks and haul road construction activities while ensuring contractor performance, safety, quality, and schedule compliance.
This is a hands-on, site-based FIFO role suited to an experienced civil engineer with strong contractor management capability and proven experience in large-scale mining or heavy industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site civil engineering support across bulk earthworks and haul road construction activities
- Manage and supervise civil contractors, ensuring compliance with project scope, specifications, schedule, and safety requirements
- Coordinate daily construction activities with site execution and project management teams
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, designs, and technical documentation
- Monitor construction progress and provide regular reporting on productivity, risks, and constraints
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, drawings, and project procedures
- Identify and manage construction issues, variations, and technical risks as they arise
- Promote and uphold safety leadership, ensuring compliance with site HSE requirements
- Support commissioning, handover, and close-out activities as required
Key Experience & Requirements
- Degree qualification in Civil Engineering
- Extensive experience in bulk earthworks on mining or large-scale infrastructure project
- Proven experience in haul road construction and maintenance
- Strong contractor management and supervision capability
- Demonstrated experience working in FIFO site environments
