Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Structural Engineer with strong design capabilities and experience supporting structural integrity and site-based activities. This role suits a senior-level professional, with flexibility for part-time engagement.

The successful candidate will contribute to both design delivery and on-site structural assessments, ensuring safe, compliant, and practical engineering solutions across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed structural analysis and design to ensure safety, compliance, and constructability
  • Review and validate design calculations, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Assess material behaviour and performance under construction-stage conditions
  • Prepare and review technical reports
  • Conduct site visits to support structural integrity assessments
  • Develop and advise on construction methodologies and sequencing
  • Work closely with contractors and site teams to ensure buildable solutions
  • Collaborate with engineers, designers, and consultants to deliver integrated solutions
  • Coordinate across disciplines and participate in interdisciplinary workshops and risk assessments
  • Liaise with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders for project delivery
  • Assist in tender preparation and work-winning activities
  • Identify and manage technical and commercial risks for both the organisation and clients
  • Ensure all work complies with:

    • Relevant legislation and codes
    • Australian standards
    • Corporate systems and requirements

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Min 10 years+ post-graduate experience in structural engineering
  • Experience in design and site-based structural engineering work
  • Strong understanding of Australian Standards and construction safety principles
  • Proficient in structural analysis and design software
  • Ability to produce accurate, high-quality engineering documentation
  • Demonstrated capability in delivering practical, buildable solutions
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with site teams and contractors
  • Proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Strong coordination and teamwork capabilities
