Airswift is looking for a Senior Subsea Tree Engineer to work in a contractor position in Mexico City for an oil and gas company.
The Senior Subsea Tree Engineer acts as the technical authority responsible for governing the scope of Subsea Trees for the Zama Project in the Gulf of Mexico/Mexico, providing leadership from the FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) phase through detailed engineering, interface engineering (subsea, drilling and completion, well operation, flow assurance), construction, offshore installation, pre-commissioning, and operational support, ensuring project integrity and regulatory compliance of subsea trees throughout the project lifecycle.
The Senior Subsea Tree Engineer provides technical leadership for subsea trees, supporting the D&C (Drilling and Completion) team, including tree installation and well control, completion integration, well testing, and cleanup. Leads the subsea tree project during FEED execution and governs the detailed engineering, reviewing contractor and supplier deliverables to ensure technical adequacy and compliance with functional safety, adherence to applicable codes and standards, and alignment with safe work practices at all project phases.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure safe working practices are implemented within the team along all phases of
the project.
Promote a positive safety culture.
Assist the Subsea Production System (SPS) Lead in the successful management and achievement of project objectives.
Provide technical oversight and quality assurance throughout the project's phases. It includes conducting post-job evaluations and capture lessons learned to drive continuous improvement across Subsea Trees engineering activities.
Perform ad-hoc engineering studies related to Subsea Trees & D&C Support,
Support the preparation of procurement package information as required.
Lead and coordinate the Subsea Trees engineering work during FEED, Contract
finalization, Project preparation and Project execution.
Ensure progress, fitness for purpose, and compliance with COMPANY Rules and Specifications, Project requirements and international codes of alt engineering for Subsea Trees and associate items during all Project phases.
Provide support to the D&C team.
Oversee review and ensure Subsea Trees and FEED/EPC I Technical offers meet Project and COLIPANY standards. Lead the technical clarifications with Tenderers and ensure timely closing of technical qualifications
Ensure that all engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, testing, qualification, pre- commissioning and commissioning aspects are suitably addressed during the different engineering phases by timely reviewing (or having reviewed) and validating the relevant Subsea Trees and associated D&C documentation issued by FEED and EPCI Contractor(s).
Identify, implement, and coordinate any Subsea Trees study, testing or survey necessary to ensure readiness and fitness for purpose.
Ensure follow-up and support for supervision of all testing and qualification activities (FAT, EFAT, SIT, etc.), all installation preparation, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of Subsea Trees performed by Contractors, including the handover of equipment to other packages.
Ensure technical compliance throughout the Project life of the engineered, procured, fabricated, tested, and installed Subsea Trees and D&C related equipment (over several locations, yards),
Ensure all technical, QA/QC and HSE project policies and requirements are duly implemented and ensure Contractors' compliance with contractual requirements in all areas.
Anticipate and ensure adequate and timely reporting to the SPS Lead of any concern, issue, or potential deviation. Propose timely and adequate solutions and optimizations.
Support the SPS Lead in liaising with other package teams (SURF, D&C, etc.) for
interface matters with the support of the Interface Nlanager and leads
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Engineering degree or apprenticeship (mechanical, electrical or equivalent).
Strong experience in subsea engineering, including:
o Design, construction and implementation of subsea Christmas trees and drilling and completion (D&C) support systems
o Design, construction and implementation of subsea hardware
o Design, construction and implementation of subsea systems
o Subsea installation operations (offshore experience)
o Subsea drilling and completion operations (offshore experience)
o Subsea production operations (offshore experience)
o Flow assurance
o Subsea intervention operations (including offshore experience)
o Subsea interconnection design in mature fields (including offshore experience)
o Subsea well abandonment and removal operations (including offshore experience)
Proven experience acting as Owner's Engineer / technical authority for deepwater offshore projects and operations
International experience in executing deepwater projects and operations internationally, including experience in foreign regulatory compliance
Previous experience in FEED and Detailed Engineering. • Proven leadership in subsea control and distribution, from the FEED (Front-End Engineering Design) phase to detailed engineering, with continuity into construction and offshore installation support.
Experience with drilling operations, completion operations, Christmas trees, Christmas tree controls, umbilicals, manifolds, pipelines, jumpers, and riser systems (rigid and/or flexible) in offshore environments.
Familiarity with rigid/flexible hybrid systems, pigging philosophy development, and pre-commissioning strategy definition.
