SIMOPS PTW Coordinator
Role Overview (Job Purpose)
- The SIMOPS PTW Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all Permit to Work (PTW) activities within a designated asset area. The role ensures that all work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and RLIC procedures.
- The position acts as the central coordination point between operations, contractors, and project teams for all PTW-related activities.
Key Responsibilities
PTW Coordination & Planning
- Serve as the single point of contact for all PTW activities.
- Coordinate between Operations and Performing Parties (PP) to facilitate safe work execution.
- Provide guidance on PTW processes, systems, and requirements (including ePTW).
Risk Assessment & Work Planning
- Review and screen permits during the planning phase
- Ensure proper risk assessment and hazard identification is conducted.
- Identify conflicting activities and ensure mitigation measures are implemented.
Daily Operations & Communication
- Lead daily PTW coordination meetings.
- Maintain and circulate schedules of planned work activities (daily/weekly).
- Update PTW registers, certificates, and performance statistics.
- Brief Shift Supervisors on upcoming permits and operational constraints.
Compliance & Monitoring
- Conduct spot checks to ensure work compliance with PTW procedures.
- Coordinate and participate in PTW audits.
- Act as focal point for PTW audit activities.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of permits, certificates, and compliance documentation.
- Track overdue or expired permits and escalate to management.
- Generate regular PTW reports, statistics, and non-compliance reports.
Continuous Improvement & Investigation
- Identify opportunities to improve PTW systems and processes.
- Participate in incident and near-miss investigations related to PTW.
Qualifications & Experience
Minimum Education
- HND in Engineering (mandatory)
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in oil & gas operations
- Strong exposure to PTW systems and operational environments
Technical & Business Skills
- Strong knowledge of Permit to Work systems and processes
- Understanding of process operations within oil & gas facilities
- Excellent English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work effectively in multinational environments
