Job Title: Senior Project Engineer
Qualifications
- B.Sc. in an Engineering discipline from a recognized university; a higher degree would be advantageous.
- Membership in a recognized professional engineering or project management association/institution is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in engineering, project management, and execution of major EPIC projects in the offshore oil & gas sector.
- Proven experience in the execution of process or gas compression platforms, including jackets, topsides, bridges, and associated appurtenances.
- Strong communication skills, including presentation delivery, report writing, and meeting facilitation.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide project engineering and management for offshore process platforms/facilities in accordance with established project management frameworks.
- Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams to deliver complete engineering and project management support.
- Prepare and implement Project Execution Plans.
- Participate in project planning, cost control, budgeting, contract administration, progress reporting, change management, and stage gate approval processes.
- Manage and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure timely review of deliverables and resolution of technical issues.
- Support the preparation of scopes of work, tender packages, tendering processes, and evaluation of submissions, including recommendations to relevant committees.
- Monitor contractor and vendor performance, ensuring quality of work and adherence to agreed milestones; initiate corrective actions where necessary.
- Contribute to project risk management through identification, mitigation, tracking, and close-out of risks and issues.
- Facilitate effective interface management between contractors and project stakeholders in line with interface management plans.
- Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and project quality standards in coordination with relevant teams.
- Review contractor time and cost claims; assess variations and recommend settlement of final accounts.
- Ensure timely project completion and handover, including certification, punch list close-out, and system documentation approvals leading to transfer to operations.
- Support and facilitate project close-out activities.
- Prepare project progress reports for internal stakeholders and management presentations.
- Mentor junior or national staff by providing structured training and development to support their professional growth.
