One of our clients, a major oil and gas company has tasked us with sourcing a Storekeeper to support warehouse and inventory operations at their Lloydminster location. This is a 6?month contract with a strong potential for extension, depending on business needs and performance.
The Storekeeper is responsible for executing all product and material handling activities while ensuring full compliance with established policies, procedures, and QHSE standards. This role plays an essential part in receiving, inspecting, storing, issuing, and managing inventory accuracy, along with maintaining strong housekeeping standards throughout warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (weekends as required by the business unit)
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management
- Inspect, label, receive, store, pick, pack, issue, dispose of, and cycle count inventory items.
- Accept and verify supplier deliveries, ensuring items match packing lists/Purchase Orders and are received in suitable condition; report discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of documentation for all outbound shipments.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and participate in periodic full physical inventory counts.
Material Fulfillment & Logistics
- Complete material fulfillment tasks in response to division requests.
- Perform Kitting, Kanban point?of?use replenishment, and other materials management initiatives directed by the Supervisor.
- Troubleshoot and resolve local warehouse or inventory-related issues as needed.
Warehouse Optimization & Safety
- Keep warehouse and shipping/receiving areas in excellent housekeeping condition.
- Improve safety and efficiency by optimizing bin locations and storage methods.
- Comply with all relevant Personnel and QHSE policies.
- Operate forklift and/or other material?handling equipment (training and certification will be provided).
Other Duties
- Support ongoing improvement initiatives and perform additional tasks as assigned.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Accuracy of receiving, issuing, and inventory transactions.
- Quality of housekeeping in warehouse and shipping/receiving areas.
- Timeliness and accuracy of outgoing and incoming material processing.
- Compliance with QHSE and operational procedures.
- Reduction of discrepancies and continuous improvement in workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in warehouse, inventory, or material?handling roles is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and verify packing lists, POs, and inventory documents.
- Ability to lift and handle materials as required.
- Computer proficiency; familiarity with inventory software is an advantage.
- Willingness to obtain forklift/material?handling certification (if not already certified).
