One of our major oil and gas clients is seeking a Sub-Contracts Manager to work on a 12 - month assignment in their facilities in North Slope, AK.

Schedule:

Rotational assignment – 2 weeks on/2 weeks off

Requirements:

Subcontract Management and Execution
• Collaborate closely with project managers, construction managers, superintendents, and project teams
• Manage subcontractor scopes of work, contract compliance, and commercial performance
• Communicate with project teams to define scopes, manage budget or schedule changes, and identify variances from original plans
• Understand and administer subcontract agreements, contract language, and jurisdictional markups
• Lead subcontractor performance reviews and provide guidance to project leadership.

Project Strategy and Risk Management
• Support development and execution of overall project subcontracting strategy
• Identify risks related to subcontract scope, execution, cost, and schedule
• Implement and manage project risk mitigation strategies
• Evaluate and communicate issues impacting project performance to stakeholders.

Change Management and Cost Control
• Manage all subcontract change orders including negotiation, evaluation, processing, and assessment of cost and schedule impacts
• Perform detailed cost reviews related to subcontracted work and construction equipment
• Provide input to cost forecasts, schedule updates, and performance reports.

Reporting and Project Controls
• Establish and maintain reporting procedures for labor, materials, costs, document control, and site office processes
• Provide input to project performance reporting related to safety, quality, cost, and schedule
• Monitor subcontractor performance across schedule, costs, workforce, materials, and HSE compliance.

Leadership and Collaboration
• Supervise, direct, coach, and mentor project team members across one or multiple sites
• Lead effective site meetings with subcontractors, internal teams, and project stakeholders
• Communicate clearly across all levels of the organization, from craft personnel to senior leadership
• Support project pursuits by contributing to estimates, subcontractor engagement, proposals, and presentations.

Requirement:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline, or a construction trades background with relevant experience.
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction methods, sequencing, materials, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience managing subcontract agreements and contract language.
  • Proven ability to identify and mitigate commercial and execution risk on construction projects.
  • Experience leading site meetings and presenting to clients, consultants, and internal leadership.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to adapt communication style to diverse audiences including field crews, management, and external partners.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Proven problem solving ability related to construction execution, sequencing, and staffing.

Prefered Qulifications:

  • Experience supporting industrial or heavy construction projects in remote or Arctic environments.
  • Familiarity with Alaska labor environments and jurisdictional considerations.
  • Experience working in rotational project settings.
  • Working knowledge of project management, estimating, cost control, and scheduling systems.
