Position Overview
The Senior Subsea Procurement & Contracts Specialist supports affiliates and major capital projects by delivering strategic sourcing, contract administration, and procurement expertise for Subsea Production Systems (SPS), Subsea Umbilicals, Risers & Flowlines (SURF), and Transport & Installation (T&I) packages.
The role operates at category level, providing guidance and hands?on support for high?value, high?complexity EPCI / EPFS contracts ranging from USD 50M to USD 2B CAPEX, across E&P and Gas, Renewables & Power businesses.
This position requires extensive interaction with projects, affiliates, technical entities, legal teams, and the global subsea supply chain, acting as a toward key contractors and service providers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Procurement & Contracting
Act as Senior Procurement Engineer for SPS (EPFS & Life?of?Field) and/or SURF (supply and EPCI) packages.
Support affiliates and projects throughout the full procurement lifecycle:
Bidder screening and supplier engagement
Tender strategy and development
Negotiations and award recommendations
Design and execute complex CFT models (CCFT, OBE/OBT, FEED+, hybrid strategies).
Define CFT commercial structures, contract terms, and risk allocation.
Lead commercial bid evaluation, normalization, and contract negotiations.
Provide market intelligence, custom benchmarks, and supply chain analysis for project gate decisions.
2. Contract Administration & Category Governance
Administer SPS, SURF, and T&I contracts at category level.
Develop and implement procurement strategies with technical counterparts to:
Secure vessel availability
Lock manufacturing slots and critical resources
Manage tight market conditions
Contribute to and manage Long?Term Agreements, Preferred Supplier Agreements, and centralized procurement initiatives.
Ensure full compliance with governance (CFT, RTA, Branch Committee approvals).
Monitor supplier performance and promote contract adherence.
Represent Category Procurement in project reviews, steering committees, and governance panels.
3. Legal & Stakeholder Coordination
Coordinate closely with Legal, Procurement, Projects, and Technical entities.
Support contractual clarifications, risk management, and dispute avoidance.
Contribute to the development and update of contract templates and procurement tools.
4. Centralized & Strategic Procurement
Identify and propose synergies and aggregation opportunities across projects, assets, and regions.
Lead or support multi?asset, multi?country, and global procurement initiatives for SPS, SURF, and T&I.
Quantify and deliver measurable value through centralized sourcing strategies.
5. Lessons Learned & Continuous Improvement
Systematically review existing REX / Lessons Learned at contract initiation.
Capture and consolidate lessons learned at contract close?out.
Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement and contract practices.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 15 years of experience in EPCI and/or EPFS contract administration for offshore/subsea E&P projects.
At least 10 years of hands?on experience with SPS and/or SURF CFT execution and contract administration.
Strong background in large?scale offshore capital projects with complex contractual structures.
Experience in Offshore Wind Transport & Installation projects is an advantage.
