Role Synopsis
Quality Inspector is responsible for implementing and verifying compliance with the Project Quality Management System and the bp’s quality requirements during the fabrication of well jumper spools and other quality assurance and quality control activities assigned by AGT Subsea Quality management team. The role ensures that welding, coating, and non-destructive examination (NDE) activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures, applicable codes and standards, and contractual specifications. The role interfaces closely with fabrication teams, NDT personnel, coating applicators, and other Company representatives to ensure quality objectives are achieved throughout fabrication, testing, and pre-commissioning stages.
Key Accountabilities:
This role will be responsible for quality inspection and surveillance of:
Fabrication activities associated with subsea well jumpers but not limited to, including pipe preparation, fit-up, welding, NDT, ferrite & PMI testing, dimensional control, coating application, pressure testing, FAT, preservation, and final release.
Verification that fabrication, inspection, and testing activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, and the Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs).
Inspection and verification of welding activities including welder qualifications, WPS compliance, fit-up, welding parameters, consumable control, and weld traceability.
Review and verification of NDT activities and reports including RT, UT, MT, and PT to ensure compliance with applicable procedures, acceptance criteria, and project requirements.
Inspection and verification of coating and surface preparation activities including blasting, coating application, curing, dry film thickness measurement, holiday detection, adhesion testing, and coating repairs.
Verification of material traceability including review of material certificates, heat number traceability, identification markings, and compliance with project specifications.
Witnessing and verification of testing activities including FATs, hydrostatic testing, dimensional inspections, coating inspections, and other fabrication tests as defined in the approved ITPs.
Ensuring hold, witness, and surveillance and Review/Approval points identified in the Inspection and Test Plans are implemented and documented appropriately.
Monitoring contractor fabrication and inspection activities to confirm compliance with project quality requirements and applicable procedures.
Identification and reporting of non-conformances, quality deviations, and observations, supporting investigation and verification of corrective actions.
Preparation and submission of inspection reports, surveillance reports, and other quality documentation in accordance with project reporting requirements.
Verification that manufacturing records, inspection reports, NDT reports, coating records, and testing documentation are complete and traceable prior to final acceptance and release.
Supporting implementation of the Right First Time program through proactive inspection, early identification of potential quality risks, and promotion of good fabrication practices.
Providing feedback to the AGT Subsea quality team regarding contractor performance, fabrication quality trends, and potential quality risks.
Supporting continuous improvement by communicating lessons learned and recurring quality issues identified during fabrication and inspection activities
Essential Education
Degree qualified in technical or related discipline
ISO 9001 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor
Welding Inspection - CSWIP 3.2.1 / 3.2.2 or equivalent
Radiography Interpretation - CSWIP RT Level 2, PCN or equivalent
Coating Inspection - ICORR Level 2 / NACE Level 2 / CSWIP-BGAS Level 2 or equivalent
NDE Methodology Awareness (MT, PT, RT, UT)
Working knowledge of ASME B31.3, ASME Sec. IX, API Specifications (API 6A, API 17R)
Essential Experience and Job Requirements
Minimum 15 years of experience in oil & gas or similar industry
Minimum 10 years of Quality Inspection (Welding, Coating, NDT) Experience
Previous experience in roles such as Quality Inspector, QC Inspector, Senior QC Inspector, or similar positions within major EPC contractors or operating companies involved in offshore or subsea projects.
Demonstrated experience in fabrication and construction of offshore or subsea infrastructure, including piping systems, spools, jumpers, or similar subsea production components.
Experience in fabrication yard environments with strong familiarity with welding inspection practices, NDT verification, coating inspection activities, and inspection and testing processes associated with subsea piping fabrication.
Significant experience relevant to construction of offshore facilities, pipeline fabrication, and associated fabrication processes supporting offshore installation activities.
Good understanding of fabrication quality documentation, inspection and test plans, material traceability requirements, and inspection records associated with fabrication and construction activities.
Experience working with EPCI contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party inspection agencies within multidisciplinary project environments.

Knowledge of manufacturing, materials, subsea items fabrication and installation, SDSS and clad pipe welding.
