Airswift is searching for a SURF Lead to work with a leading company in the Oil & Gas sector on a major offshore development project.
This is a third-party contractor position on a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension.
This role will act as the technical authority and leadership focal point for Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) systems, overseeing engineering, procurement, construction, and installation activities across all project phases.
The position is critical to ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient execution of subsea infrastructure, supporting delivery from concept selection through offshore installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead SURF engineering activities across pre-FEED, FEED, and execution phases
- Act as technical authority for subsea systems including flowlines, risers, and umbilicals
- Ensure design integrity, constructability, and compliance with industry standards
- Oversee contractors and suppliers, ensuring quality and timely delivery
- Support procurement processes, technical evaluations, and clarifications
- Manage interfaces with pipelines, facilities, and subsea production systems
- Participate in HAZOPs, design reviews, and risk management processes
- Support installation, commissioning, and handover to operations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Extensive experience in offshore oil & gas projects (typically 15–20+ years)
- Strong background in SURF systems (flowlines, risers, umbilicals)
- Proven experience in FEED and detailed engineering phases
- Experience as technical authority or in a leadership position
- Strong knowledge of subsea design codes and offshore standards
- Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary interfaces
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
