Position Objective

The Transport Coordinator serves as the central coordination role for planning, managing, and communicating traffic accessibility, primarily along the Agogo Road, in support of the APF Tie?In Project.

Pipeline installation activities will cause daily disruptions to traffic, affecting company operations, projects, drilling and completions logistics, contractors, and surrounding local and community users. The Transport Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective communication, forward planning, and coordination to minimise impact and maintain safe and efficient access.

The role reports directly to the Project Site Manager and works closely with Logistics, construction teams, and other supporting functions. Close liaison with Community Affairs is essential to manage stakeholder expectations and emerging issues.

This position requires strong organisational, coordination, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.


Position Accountabilities

Key accountabilities include:

  • Maintaining clear, consistent, and timely communication with all stakeholders regarding road access, constraints, disruptions, and forward planning
  • Developing and maintaining a high?level integrated access schedule identifying critical logistics movements, critical activities, and critical?path requirements
  • Producing daily and weekly access forecasts to support planning, coordination, and decision?making
  • Maintaining daily operational communications with stakeholders to ensure alignment and rapid resolution of access?related issues
  • Working with internal stakeholders to identify, prioritise, and resolve access constraints and emerging requirements
  • Liaising closely with Community Affairs to manage communications, concerns, and emerging community issues
  • Building and maintaining strong, constructive, and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Monitoring pipeline construction progress and roadway conditions to identify access risks, conflicts, or optimisation opportunities impacting multi?stakeholder operations

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Identifying opportunities for overall access, traffic, and logistics optimisation
  • Identifying logistics management efficiencies and synergies across stakeholders
  • Maintaining strong, positive, and mutually beneficial working relationships with internal and external parties
  • Proactively identifying and resolving communication gaps or misalignment between key stakeholders

Professional Experience

Essential experience includes:

  • 10–15 years’ experience coordinating and delivering in?country logistics for major infrastructure projects in remote locations
  • Broad experience with brownfield oil and gas infrastructure projects and operations
  • Recent Papua New Guinea project experience
  • Demonstrated capability to work in remote or rotational site?based assignments

Technical & Other Competencies

  • Strong understanding of project schedules and the ability to assess, correlate, and prioritise activities across multiple stakeholders and projects
  • Strong computer?based skills, including development of forecasts, communication tools, schedules, and protocols
  • Familiarity with PNG community?based groups and stakeholder environments
  • Strong judgment and decision?making skills related to people, project, and process challenges
  • Ability to simplify and clearly communicate complex access and logistics issues to stakeholders at all levels
  • Strong problem?solving and conflict resolution capability, particularly in group environments
  • Delivery?focused mindset with a collaborative, team?oriented approach
  • Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with a track record of achieving outcomes through influence
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity when working with mixed national and expatriate workforces
  • High?level interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills

Qualifications

Essential qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Scheduling, or a related discipline
