Airswift is looking for a Visual Inspection Operator to work with one of our major chemical manufacturing clients in Birmingham, AL, for a 12-month assignment with possible extension.
Responsibilities:
- Primarily perform manual visual inspection of final products, including individually handling each unit to identify flaws or nonconformities in accordance with established procedures and inspection criteria.
- Operate basic equipment and perform routine production tasks while following strict and detailed work instructions.
- Execute operational tasks in alignment with established processes and within defined parameters, which may include finished product sampling, labeling, and final packaging.
- Assist with the installation of equipment and appliances by completing preparatory activities and providing support under strict, detailed instructions.
- Support maintenance and repair activities by carrying out preparatory tasks and assisting technicians as instructed.
- Support quality operations by working in compliance with strict quality standards and procedures.
- Follow all mandatory work instructions, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to protect the environment and ensure personal and workplace safety.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Documentation of 20/20 near visual acuity or better (e.g., 20/14); no color blindness. Near visual acuity cannot be substituted with far visual acuity.
- Physically capable of sitting or standing for extended periods, maintaining mental focus, and performing repetitive motions with short breaks.
- Ability to properly use PPE appropriate to the hazard and exposure level, including respiratory protection when required.
- Ability to accurately record numerical data in a legible manner and perform elementary math functions (addition and subtraction) with minimal supervision.
- Clear and effective basic verbal communication skills, under supervision, to express ideas, request actions, and support operational planning.
- Ability to work with guidance (but not constant supervision) to understand, follow, and apply policies and procedures aligned with organizational objectives.
- Ability to identify, assess, prioritize, and manage operational risks at an elementary level under supervision.
- Ability to work under supervision to support employee development and contribute to organizational goals.
- Ability to work under supervision to ensure full compliance with applicable rules, regulations, and operational requirements.
