Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Well Management Engineer (RTP & Plug & Abandonment) to support post-completion wellwork operations. This role is responsible for designing, planning, and executing well interventions, including remedial workovers and P&A activities, while collaborating across engineering, operations, and contractor teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, plan, and support execution of wellwork operations post-completion, including remedial workovers and plug & abandonment (P&A)
  • Collaborate with Production Engineering to develop cost estimates and scope for opportunity evaluations
  • Develop procedures and provide design input for artificial lift systems
  • Coordinate with Operations teams for rig scheduling, execution support, and troubleshooting
  • Engage with contractors and suppliers to ensure cost efficiency and equipment readiness
  • Monitor daily wellwork progress, track costs, and recommend cost-effective adjustments
  • Travel to field locations as needed to oversee operations
  • Support budgeting and forecasting of wellwork expenditures
  • Analyze performance metrics to improve execution efficiency
  • Manage contractor performance and ensure accuracy of Wellview data

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5 years of Oil & Gas experience, including:
    • At least 3 years of direct wellwork experience (Permian Basin preferred)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Willingness to travel to field locations as needed
  • Proficiency in:
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Wellview
  • Experience with Spotfire, Power BI, or similar analytics tools is preferred

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience working for an operator (e.g., PNR, EOG, OXY, Diamondback, Endeavor, Permian) strongly preferred over service company background
  • Hands-on expertise in:
    • Workover operations
    • Completions
    • Plug & Abandonment (P&A)
  • Candidates with backgrounds primarily in drilling or fracturing are less aligned with this role
