Wellsite Supervisor (Plug & Abandon)

Start Date: 1st June 2026

Position Overview

This position is accountable for ensuring safe and efficient well abandonment operations onsite for the Asset. The role reports to the Well Operations Team Lead, serving as a senior member within the Onsite Operations P&A team responsible for executing the offshore P&A scope. This field-based position supervises execution plans on the rig/unit and delivers wells in line with functional objectives and value drivers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day execution of well abandonment programs, including planning, risk mitigation, and contingency management for offshore operations.
  • Coordinate and manage activities such as drilling, completion, well intervention, and P&A, ensuring adherence to company and local regulatory standards.
  • Lead by example in driving personal and process safety initiatives; act as focal point for HSSE management and quality evaluation of contractor services.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers and Operations Team Leads to optimize services, materials, fluid systems, and operational techniques; support contract performance.
  • Coach and mentor rig-site teams, promoting strong HSE and E&C cultures and supporting continuous staff development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Extensive industry experience, preferably within the North Sea regulatory environment.
  • Valid IWCF Level 4 Supervisor or recognized alternative (IADC WELLCAP).
  • Possession of BOSIET, UK Medical, and MIST certifications.
  • Demonstrable competence in offshore operations—particularly with Jack-Up rigs—and previous involvement in abandonment operations.
  • History in wells, with expertise in process safety, personal safety, and change management across diverse operational environments.
