Transmission Line Manager - Construction - Renewables - Offshore Wind - Busan, South Korea
We were engaged to identify a Transmission Line Manager to develop the onshore transmission line for a major renewables initiative in South Korea. This complex role demanded expertise in underground transmission systems—either within box culverts or TBM tunnels—from landfall to the substation and point of interconnection, spanning 5.5km. Key responsibilities included progressing the project through concept selection, FEED, detailed engineering, construction, and commissioning, while also leading contract negotiations and project team coordination.
The ideal candidate required a robust background in large-scale energy infrastructure, underground cabling engineering, and contract management. Through targeted headhunting and industry mapping, we secured a candidate with proven success in delivering similar renewable and transmission line developments. Their technical insight and project leadership have expedited critical decisions and established best-in-class engineering standards, significantly de-risking the project’s timeline and budget while supporting the client’s drive towards sustainable energy.
