    Who are Nakilat?

    Nakilat is a global leader in energy transportation, with one of the world’s largest LNG carrier fleet in operation.  Their portfolio includes a wide range of maritime services such as ship repair, offshore fabrication, towage and shipping agency support.

    Established in 2004, Nakilat is a shipping and maritime company based in the State of Qatar. With one of the world’s largest Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) shipping fleet comprising of 69 LNG carriers, the company provides the essential transportation link in Qatar’s LNG supply chain. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary Nakilat Shipping Qatar Limited (NSQL), the company manages and operates one floating storage regasification unit (FSRU), four very large LPG carriers (VLGCs) and 24 LNG carriers.

    About this project

    Qatar Gas Transport Company Limited (Nakilat) was selected to be the owner and operator of up to 25 conventional-size LNG carriers pursuant to Time Charter Parties (TCP) to be entered into by affiliates of QatarEnergy and Nakilat.

    This constitutes the first award in the second batch of long-term TCPs under QatarEnergy’s historic LNG Fleet Expansion Project.
