About the Role
We are seeking a Project Quality Engineer (Yard) to support quality management activities during fabrication and construction phases. This role is instrumental in ensuring compliance with company, regulatory, and client quality standards while promoting a strong culture of quality excellence across the project. You will work closely with project teams, contractors, and vendors, providing key support to the Project Quality Manager and driving quality assurance initiatives at the yard.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Project Quality Manager in executing project quality management activities
- Act as a key point of contact for quality matters with clients (in absence of PQM)
- Assist in the implementation and execution of the Project Quality Plan
- Develop and maintain the Project Quality Audit Plan, conduct audits, and ensure closure of corrective actions
- Establish and manage Site QA Surveillance Plans, including execution and follow-up of findings
- Review and validate vendor quality documentation in a timely manner
- Conduct quality induction and awareness sessions for project stakeholders and contractors
- Monitor and track quality notifications, non-conformances, and escalations
- Analyze project quality performance and deliver regular reporting and updates
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders on quality-related matters
- Support vendor qualification and selection based on quality requirements
- Participate in quality incident investigations (RCA, CAPA) and ensure resolution
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or Quality-related discipline
- Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Oil & Gas industry
- At least 5 years in fabrication yard / construction environment
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (ISO 9000, ISO/TS 29001, ISO/IEC 80079-34)
- Experience in large-scale fabrication / construction quality assurance
- Good technical knowledge in:
- Welding & Fabrication
- Coating & Preservation
- NDT (Non-Destructive Testing)
- Ex (explosive atmospheres)
- Hands-on experience with quality investigation tools (RCA, FMEA, CAPA)
