Position Overview

This opportunity is suited to a technically capable engineering professional who can support the planning, coordination and delivery of project activities to achieve successful outcomes. The role focuses on maintaining progress against project objectives, supporting decision-making through technical evaluation, and helping to ensure delivery within schedule and budget expectations. This position will work across multidisciplinary teams and contribute throughout the project lifecycle within the oil and gas sector.

Role Context

This opportunity sits within the oil and gas industry and supports project engineering activities in a technically demanding environment. The position involves close coordination with engineering, procurement and construction functions, as well as interaction with external stakeholders where required. The work is likely to cover a range of project support activities depending on project size and complexity, including interface, delivery, change and package management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules and budgets in collaboration with the project manager and key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement and construction teams to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Carry out technical evaluations, feasibility studies and risk assessments to support project decisions.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues and support corrective actions to maintain milestones.
  • Review technical documentation, including specifications and reports, to support project execution.
  • Support compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and regulatory bodies to promote effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to the project team across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in project engineering within the oil and gas industry.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical capability.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective time management and organisational ability.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making capability.
