Job Title: 23563 - Site HSSE Advisor
Duration: ASAP - December 2028
Schedule: 5 days' work per week, 8 hours per day excluding 1 hour lunch break
Location: Tianjin, China (Shipyard based - BOMESC)
Open to China local candidates only (Chinese nationality is required)

This opportunity is focused on site-based HSSE leadership within the oil and gas construction environment, with responsibility for promoting safe, secure, and environmentally responsible working practices. The role supports construction sites through safety training, incident investigation, risk assessment, HAZID participation, and audit activity, while helping to strengthen HSSE culture and compliance with company, regulatory, client, and stakeholder standards. This position offers the chance to contribute directly to construction site safety performance across areas including Permit to Work, rigging and lifting, scaffolding, and health and safety management systems.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in Science/Engineering or equivalent

Required Experience:

  • 5 or more years of experience in Health, Safety, Security and Environment and Fire Services in the oil and gas industry
  • 5 years of experience in the Offshore Hook Up and Commissioning sector
  • Previous HSSE experience in construction site leadership
  • Experience supporting accident and incident investigation, safety audits, risk assessments, and health and safety documentation for tenders and contract start-up activities
  • Experience delivering in-house safety training and providing safety support and advice to senior management

Required Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems
  • Technical capability in Permit to Work, rigging and lifting, and scaffolding
  • Ability to analyse accident and incident statistics, identify trends, and support improvement planning
  • Experience participating in HAZID meetings and performing risk assessments
  • Knowledge of environmental discharges, Incident Command System, HEMP, industrial hygiene, gas dispersion modelling, and explosion indices
  • Understanding of incident investigation using Tripod Beta Tool and HSE auditing techniques
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018
  • Capability in monitoring performance and compliance, learning from events, incident management, safety management, internal audit delivery, and hazard identification and risk management
  • Experience in HSSE administration and worker welfare

Required Certifications:

  • Additional professional qualifications in HSSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems
  • Certification in Permit to Work, rigging and lifting, and scaffolding
