Role Overview
This role is responsible for coordinating and supervising all structural construction activities on site, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project HSSE, quality, and schedule requirements. The role serves as the key interface between construction teams, project management, and stakeholders, driving construction progress while ensuring adherence to approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all structural construction and commissioning activities are executed in accordance with approved project plans, specifications, procedures, and schedules.
- Supervise daily site activities, including workforce management, material handling, equipment utilization, and construction execution.
- Monitor construction progress and ensure activities are performed in compliance with project HSSE and quality requirements.
- Ensure construction teams are working with the latest approved drawings, technical specifications, procedures, and documentation.
- Enforce site safety rules, HSSE procedures, and safe work practices throughout all construction activities.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Provide technical guidance and support to site personnel to ensure efficient construction execution.
- Identify construction risks, challenges, and potential delays, and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
- Assess and manage changes to construction scope, methods, or execution plans, ensuring impacts are properly evaluated.
- Support mechanical completion, commissioning, and handover activities to ensure smooth project delivery.
- Prepare and submit construction progress reports, highlighting achievements, risks, challenges, and recommendations.
- Promote continuous improvement and ensure lessons learned are implemented throughout construction activities.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Following certifications is preferred:
- CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector
- International Welding Inspector (IWI - IIW-S-IIS)
- AWS QC1
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI)
- Strong understanding of structural construction, fabrication, installation, and commissioning processes.
- Experience supervising structural works within large-scale engineering or offshore projects.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with welding, structural steel fabrication, dimensional control, and inspection requirements.
