This opportunity sits within a company supporting local contractors in China and offers a broad remit across payroll administration, benefits coordination, time off administration, and reporting. The role is focused on maintaining accurate payroll-related records, supporting employee understanding of benefits and payslips, and ensuring strong collaboration across HR, HRIS, and accounting. This position will suit candidates with payroll expertise, analytical capability, and a strong understanding of local legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and register benefits in payroll systems accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collect monthly payroll elements and process them within payroll software.
  • Manage reconciliation activities on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for ledger accounts impacted by payroll.
  • Prepare wage tax instructions and payments for management approval.
  • Prepare payroll documentation for monthly review and approval.
  • Support payroll audit activity by preparing and gathering required audit documents.
  • Maintain effective communication with payroll management.
  • Collaborate with international mobility specialists, HRIS teams, and HR administration to support the accuracy of payroll, benefits, and contractual information.
  • Coordinate payments to third parties including pension, medical coverage, and unemployment insurance providers.
  • Prepare headcount reporting.
  • Act as a focal point for absence registration and reporting.
  • Support the accuracy of time off records and provide support to employees and the HR community.
  • Support employees in understanding benefits and payslips.
  • Respond to payroll-related enquiries and resolve country-specific concerns.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • HR degree with a payroll speciality (Required)

Required Experience:

  • At least 2 years of payroll experience.
  • Good knowledge of payroll activities, including regular tasks and registration.
  • Knowledge of local legislation is required.

Required Skills:

  • Fluent English.
  • Fluent local language for officers in-country.
  • Knowledge of current payroll software.
  • Good level of Excel.
  • Analytical and reporting skills.
