Job Title: 23809 - Piping Designer
Duration: Jan 2027 - May 2029
Schedule: 5 days' work per week, 8 hours per day excluding 1 hour lunch break
Location: Qidong, China (Shipyard based - Qidong COSCO)
Open to China local candidates only (Chinese nationality is required)
This opportunity sits within an engineering environment focused on piping design, 3D modelling, and detailed drawing production for oil and gas projects, including FPSO and upstream engineering work. The role supports the development of fit-for-purpose, constructible piping layouts using E3D, with close collaboration across engineering and design disciplines. This position offers involvement across model development, clash detection, isometric extraction, vendor drawing review, and technical support for fabrication, construction, and offshore engineering activities.
Required Education:
- BE, BTech, or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant field
Required Experience:
- Experience in piping design, modelling, and detailing for engineering projects
- Exposure to oil and gas, FPSO, or upstream engineering environments
- Experience supporting fabrication, construction site, or offshore engineering activities
- Experience coordinating with multiple disciplines to resolve design issues and reduce rework
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in E3D for design and draft work
- Working knowledge of MDS, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
- Ability to develop and maintain 3D models of equipment and piping routing in line with P&IDs, equipment data, and stress requirements
- Ability to prepare piping deliverables including plot plans, equipment layouts, piping GADs, pipe support GADs, and safety and escape route layouts
- Experience performing clash checks and data consistency checks to support construction-ready deliverables
- Ability to extract and annotate isometric drawings from E3D and maintain drawing quality
- Strong analytical skills, communication skills, and collaborative working approach
- Knowledge of engineering design and calculation tools, concept development, detailed design, systems engineering, piping design, site engineering, and analysis
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience of 0 to 5 years in a relevant industry environment
- Curiosity and motivation to propose or explore new ideas
- Strong team spirit in a multidisciplinary engineering setting
