About the Role
The role is responsible for the design, modelling, and detailing of piping systems to ensure safe and effective routing solutions. The position works closely with Engineers and Designers to accurately interpret engineering requirements and develop detailed designs within the 3D design environment. The role is responsible for ensuring that 3D models and drawings are fit-for-purpose, constructible, and organized to support project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain 3D models for equipment and piping systems using E3D, in accordance with P&IDs, equipment data, and piping stress requirements.
- Prepare and produce piping design deliverables including: Plot Plans, Equipment Layouts, Piping General Arrangement Drawings (GADs), Pipe Support GADs, Safety and Escape Route Layouts
- Perform clash detection and data consistency checks to ensure models are clash-free prior to the issue of construction deliverables.
- Collaborate with Piping Engineers, Lead Designers, and other disciplines to resolve design issues and minimize rework.
- Review vendor drawings, verify compliance, and incorporate approved information into the overall piping design.
- Extract and annotate isometric drawings from E3D models while ensuring the quality and accuracy of isometric deliverables.
- Work within multidisciplinary teams to ensure project requirements are incorporated into piping designs in a timely manner.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to finalize piping layouts and avoid design conflicts.
- Provide support to fabrication, construction, offshore engineering, management of change activities, and non-conformance resolution when required.
- Provide technical clarification and act as an interface between site teams and engineering offices when necessary.
- Provide regular progress updates, highlighting status, risks, and support requirements.
Qualifications
- BE / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience Required
- Proficiency in AVEVA E3D (Design & Draft), MDS, AutoCAD and/or Navisworks
- Good understanding of piping layout principles and engineering drawings.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Motivated, proactive, and willing to explore new ideas and solutions.
