Job Title: 23913 - Construction Quality Non Destructive Testing Inspector
Duration: ASAP - August 2028
Schedule: 5 days' work per week, 8 hours per day excluding 1 hour lunch break
Location: Shanghai, China (Shipyard based - SWS Shipyard)
Open to China local candidates only (Chinese nationality is required)
This opportunity focuses on quality assurance within offshore construction, supporting inspection activities across welded joints, materials, and structural components in an FPSO environment. The role is responsible for conducting and coordinating non-destructive testing activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications and recognised industry standards such as ASME, API, and ISO. This position offers the chance to contribute directly to construction quality, structural integrity, and safe project delivery.
Required Education:
- Diploma in a relevant technical field such as Engineering, Materials Science, or Non-Destructive Testing
Required Experience:
- Proven experience in non-destructive testing inspection within the oil and gas, offshore, or shipbuilding industries
- Direct experience supporting inspection of welded joints, materials, and structural components in construction environments
- Experience evaluating defects and anomalies that may affect structural integrity or safety
- Experience preparing inspection reports, documenting test results, and tracking non-conformances systematically
Required Skills:
- Strong practical capability in Ultrasonic Testing, Radiographic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, Liquid Penetrant Testing, and Visual Inspection
- Ability to develop and implement inspection plans in line with project requirements, work schedules, and applicable codes and standards
- Knowledge of industry standards and specifications including ASME, API, and ISO
- Ability to interpret inspection results and provide technical guidance on testing procedures and findings
- Understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations associated with testing and construction operations
- Ability to coordinate inspection activities with wider construction work to minimise downtime and support project schedules
- Strong problem-solving, planning, documentation, and quality-focused decision-making skills
Required Certifications:
- NDT Level II or Level III certification in methods such as UT, RT, MT, PT, and VT
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional certifications in specific NDT methods
- Previous experience on FPSO or offshore construction projects
