Job Title: 23958 - Site Quality Engineer
Duration: ASAP - 30 June 2027
Schedule: 5 days' work per week, 8 hours per day excluding 1 hour lunch break
Location: Qidong, China (Shipyard based - Qidong COSCO)

This opportunity focuses on quality assurance within a fabrication yard environment, supporting project delivery and compliance with company, regulatory, and stakeholder standards. The role is positioned within the oil and gas sector and plays a key part in quality management, internal and external audits, surveillance planning, and quality performance reporting. This position offers involvement across vendor documentation review, quality investigations, and continuous improvement activities within a technically demanding project setting.
Required Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, science, or a related quality discipline, with a focus on quality management or a relevant field.
Required Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry.
- At least 5 years of experience in fabrication yard environments.
- Proven experience supporting project quality management within large-scale construction or fabrication projects.
- Experience conducting internal and external audits and following up corrective actions through to closure.
- Experience reviewing vendor quality documentation and supporting vendor or subcontractor qualification activities.
- Experience participating in quality incident investigations and resolution activities.
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems including ISO 9000, ISO/TS 29001, and ISO/IEC 80079-34.
- Ability to establish, maintain, and execute project quality audit plans and site QA surveillance plans.
- Strong understanding of quality assurance techniques applicable to construction and fabrication environments.
- Technical knowledge in welding, coating, non-destructive testing (NDT), preservation, and Ex environments.
- Solid understanding of quality investigation tools and methodologies including root cause analysis, FMEA, and CAPA.
- Ability to monitor quality notifications and escalations and ensure timely reporting of quality activities.
- Strong stakeholder communication skills for engagement with project teams, vendors, subcontractors, and other internal stakeholders.
- Ability to deliver quality induction and awareness sessions on project quality requirements.
- Fluent English and Mandarin language capability.
Required Certifications:
- Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or equivalent standard (Required).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications in welding, coating, non-destructive testing, preservation, or Ex disciplines.
