Job Title: Asset Integrity Technologist - Pipelines
Duration: 1-year contract
Schedule: M-F
Location: Medicine Hat, AB

This opportunity offers involvement across the full asset life-cycle, from design and commissioning through to close-down and decommissioning, within an upstream oil and gas environment. The role supports asset integrity management activities for pipelines, pressure equipment, tanks, and structural components, with exposure to corrosion control, risk assessment, inspection planning, and regulatory liaison. This position is well suited to candidates looking to apply strong technical judgement in a safety-sensitive operating environment while contributing to reliability, compliance, and operational performance.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of related oil and gas industry experience.
  • Must-have experience with Pipeline Integrity.
  • Strong working knowledge of upstream pipeline integrity management.
  • Experience with pipeline maintenance work coordination.
  • Experience supporting inspection, repair, corrosion management, and risk assessment activities across operational assets.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to apply risk assessment methodologies to maintain assets at a tolerable level in relation to safety, environmental impact, compliance, reliability, and economic loss.
  • Capability to analyse inspection results, failure investigation findings, risk assessment outputs, and process conditions to identify degradation mechanisms and implement suitable mitigation and monitoring techniques.
  • Working knowledge of pipeline codes and standards including CSA Z662 and applicable provincial and federal directives or regulations.
  • Ability to support corrosion monitoring programs, chemical inhibition programs, and cathodic protection coordination for pipelines and associated facilities.
  • Experience developing and maintaining inspection schedules and updating equipment inventory databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and integrity management software systems such as Accumap, Maxi-Trak, Abacus, or Maximo.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive, self-starting approach.

Required Certifications:

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s licence (Required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant technical degree or diploma with professional or certified designation.
  • Pipeline experience with NACE/AMPP corrosion courses.
  • API certifications (Preferred).
