Role Overview


We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across the oil & gas and energy sectors for a leading engineering and procurement business based in Sweden.



This role will focus on identifying new business opportunities, developing strategic client relationships, and supporting the expansion of engineering, procurement, and equipment supply services across markets in South Africa and across the continent. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in driving revenue growth and strengthening the company's market presence.



Responsibilities

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the oil & gas and energy sectors

  • Develop and maintain relationships with operators, EPC contractors, procurement teams, and other key stakeholders

  • Promote engineering, procurement, and equipment supply solutions to existing and prospective clients

  • Monitor market trends, upcoming projects, and tender opportunities

  • Lead the preparation and submission of technical and commercial proposals

  • Negotiate contracts and secure new business opportunities

  • Work closely with engineering, procurement, and logistics teams to support successful project delivery

  • Represent the company at client meetings, exhibitions, and industry events


Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development and sales within the oil & gas or energy sectors

  • Proven experience working with engineering, procurement, or EPC organisations

  • Strong understanding of the oil & gas project lifecycle, including upstream, midstream, and downstream operations

  • Knowledge of steel products, forging, piping systems, or industrial equipment is highly desirable

  • Established network within oil & gas operators, EPC contractors, and key industry stakeholders

  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management abilities

  • Knowledge of industry standards such as API, ASTM, and ISO is desirable

  • Experience using ERP systems, including Microsoft Business Central, is beneficial

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and work independently
