Role overview

This role sits within the oil and gas industry and supports project and operations execution. The working environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, with close interaction with project managers and key stakeholders. The Buyer will contribute to procurement activity that supports delivery timelines, budget expectations and commercial objectives.


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement plans aligned to project requirements, schedules and budgets.

  • Source and evaluate suppliers against quality, cost and delivery expectations.

  • Negotiate contracts and commercial terms while supporting risk mitigation.

  • Issue and manage purchase orders with accuracy and in line with specifications and company policies.

  • Monitor procurement activity to support cost control and identify savings opportunities without compromising quality.

  • Ensure procurement activity complies with relevant regulations, company policies and safety standards.

  • Provide regular procurement status updates, highlighting risks and proposed mitigation actions to stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, engineering, business administration, or a related field.

  • Proven experience in procurement within the oil and gas industry.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.

  • Excellent organisational and analytical abilities.

  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

  • Capability in project procurement strategy and management, strategic sourcing and vendor management, contract management, negotiation, product costing, commercial analytics and reporting, regulatory management, purchasing tools and processes, and product knowledge.
