Airswift is currently seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to work for a paints and coatings manufacturing and supply company in Trinidad and Tobago.

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, acting as a business partner, and overseeing the management of the Company's financial resources. The incumbent leads the finance function and oversees financial planning and analysis, accounting, treasury, tax management, risk management, financial reporting, corporate governance, IT oversight, financial support for procurement, and internal controls.

The role is responsible for maintaining effective financial controls, ensuring compliance with IFRS standards, legal regulations, and company policies, as well as fostering a culture of performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead strategic financial planning, annual budgets, and forecasts. Annual / Quarterly / Monthly

Deliver monthly, quarterly, annual, and Board financial reporting.  Monthly / Quarterly / Annual

Manage cash flow, treasury, and working capital. : Daily / Weekly / Monthly

Strengthen governance, controls, risk management, and compliance.

Support manufacturing profitability and cost management.

Evaluate capital expenditure and strategic investment proposals.  As required

Lead, coach, and develop Finance team members.

Establish performance standards, KPIs, and accountability measures for the department.

Financial Management & Reporting

Direct and oversee accounting, financial reporting, and management reporting activities.

Ensure timely preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.

Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), statutory requirements, and Group accounting policies.

Establish and maintain robust financial controls and reporting systems that promote transparency and accountability.

Financial Planning & Analysis

 

Lead annual budgeting, strategic planning, and forecasting processes. 

Develop financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases for key decisions. 

Monitor actual performance against budgets, forecasts, and strategic targets. 

Identify variances and recommend corrective actions to protect profitability and cash flow. 

Governance, Risk & Compliance

Lead financial risk management initiatives and support enterprise risk management activities.

Coordinate internal and external audit activities and ensure implementation of audit recommendations.

Liaise with statutory bodies, tax authorities, auditors, legal advisors, and other exteral stakeholders.

Manufacturing & Operational Finance

Lead initiatives to improve manufacturing profitability, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Oversee product costing, margin analysis, customer profitability, and channel profitability.

Evaluate capital expenditure proposals, coordinate approvals, and monitor post-investment returns.

Drive cost reduction, value-for-money reviews, and productivity initiatives throughout the business.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS 

Degree and major if applicable:       

Marketing, Sales or Business Administration

Exposure to the construction sector would be an asset.
