Airswift is seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Design Engineer to support a nuclear plant in Seneca, SC for a 3-year contract.
Responsibilities:
Workers at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision.
Workers are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with even greater independence.
They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressively complex and varied.
Responsible for the design of pipe supports with loads provided by the pipe stress engineering group, evaluation of concrete wall core bores, and design of concrete anchorage.
Individual will also support field walkdowns and interface with craft to support installation activities.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BSCE) or equivalent technical degree with relevant experience.
10+ years as a design engineer with ASIC structural steel and ACI 318 concrete design experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear facility (training, clearance, and fitness for duty requirements).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to research complex technical issues, evaluate alternatives, and present sound engineering recommendations.
Software Experience: GT STRUDL, ANSYS, or similar structural design software experience.
Design Code Experience: ASIC, ACI 318, ASCE
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license.
Experience with 10 CFR 50.59 evaluations and modification design in nuclear facilities.
MSCE.
