Job Title: Civils & Piling Superintendent
Duration: 12 Months
Location: Padeswood, North Wales

This opportunity sits within a global EPC contractor supporting the energy transition, with a focus on consulting services across the asset lifecycle and next generation project delivery and execution. The role is based within onshore construction and offers the chance to contribute to civil and structural subcontractor supervision on a live operational petrochemical plant. Key areas of focus include piling, structural steelwork, underground drainage, road construction, safety leadership and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a member of the site construction management team with responsibility for supervising and managing civil and structural subcontractors.
  • Coordinate civil and structural works with other disciplines across the project.
  • Report on subcontractor performance to the project team through weekly reporting and daily coordination meetings.
  • Promote a strong safety culture within civil subcontractor activities on site.
  • Carry out regular safety audits and support the encouragement and enforcement of safe working practices.
  • Review contractor method statements and risk assessments and monitor adherence on site.
  • Monitor contractor technical performance against project specifications and support the resolution of technical queries.
  • Monitor and enforce project quality standards.
  • Assess contractor resources on site to confirm adequacy against project targets.
  • Track progress against the project programme, identify problem areas and support recovery actions within the project team.
  • Monitor project documentation for completion and handover.
  • Assist the project planner with information required to support planning and target completion dates.
  • Support monitoring of project costs and assessment of additional works.
  • Establish company inspection monitoring and hold points.

Required Education & Certifications:

  • Relevant discipline qualifications.
  • Industry training and standards such as CITB, CTA, City & Guilds, NVQ, and up-to-date safety and first aid courses attended.

Required Experience:

  • Experience within the relevant discipline.
  • Experience working with process plant activities and live operational petrochemical plants.

Required Skills:

  • Strong capability in supervision and management of civil and structural subcontractors.
  • Technical understanding of piling, structural steelwork, re-bar caging and form work.
  • Knowledge of underground drainage and road construction activities.
  • Ability to monitor technical performance, quality standards and project progress.
  • Ability to review method statements and risk assessments and support safe site delivery.

Preferred Education & Certifications:

  • ECITB temporary works certification (Preferred).
  • SAF18 qualification (Preferred).
