Position Overview

The Completions Engineer II opportunity is suited to a technically strong engineer with deep expertise in completions, workovers, and well interventions. This position supports the delivery of safe, compliant, reliable, and cost-effective wells within a complex subsea and offshore environment. Act as an independent technical practitioner and play a key role in multidisciplinary teams supporting planning and execution of well activities. This role offers the chance to influence well performance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement across challenging offshore operations.

Role Context

This role sits within the energy sector and focuses on subsea wells and interventions in offshore environments. The position supports well planning and execution activities with close collaboration across Wells Engineering, Operations, Production, Projects, Finance, PSCM, Regulatory teams, and field leadership. The working environment is technically demanding and suited to candidates who can operate effectively in complex, high-risk offshore settings. Experience in Gulf of Mexico deepwater operations would be advantageous for this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and execution planning for completions, workovers, and intervention activities.
  • Deliver wells that are safe, reliable, and optimised for performance and cost.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting during field operations.
  • Identify and manage well control and process safety risks during design and execution.
  • Provide technical input to risk assessments, Management of Change activities, and deviations from standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company practices, well delivery workflow requirements, and regulatory obligations.
  • Develop and maintain completions programmes, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Define technical specifications for tubulars, completion equipment, and sandface systems.
  • Support integrated operations planning and execution across SIMOPs environments.
  • Analyse performance data and benchmarking to support continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
  • Implement and evaluate new technologies, techniques, and lessons learned across assets and regions.
  • Mentor less experienced engineers and support development of standards, procedures, and best practices.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, including Mechanical, Chemical, Petroleum, or a related discipline.
  • Valid Well Control Certification.
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in completions, workovers, and interventions engineering.
  • Proven experience in subsea completions and offshore operations.
  • Strong knowledge of well intervention techniques, including wireline, perforating, and fishing.
  • Strong knowledge of fracturing and stimulation, sand control completions, well performance, and data acquisition.
  • Experience working with rig operations and completion equipment.
  • Strong technical problem-solving, decision-making, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Desirable: Experience in Gulf of Mexico deepwater operations.
  • Desirable: Knowledge of flow assurance and production operations.
  • Desirable: Experience working with Finance and PSCM in supplier management.
