CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR (MECHANICAL) - Solar Project
Qualification
- B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university, or Diploma in a relevant Engineering discipline with extensive construction-related experience.
Experience
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in construction and installation activities within oil & gas projects, including extensive experience in large-scale onshore solar (Photovoltaic) projects.
- Experience in conducting and managing protection of live oil and gas plants in accordance with approved design requirements.
- Experience in implementing construction industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards.
- Strong construction management, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise construction works executed by contractors to ensure assigned projects are completed in accordance with approved Scope of Work, engineering designs, QHSE standards, specifications, and project requirements.
- Review and provide comments on construction method statements, material submittals, and commissioning procedures from project commencement through completion and handover.
- Perform the role of Performing Authority for Permit to Work activities carried out by contractors.
- Supervise site construction and installation activities related to the assigned discipline and ensure compliance with approved engineering standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Participate in constructability reviews as required.
- Review contractors’ construction plans, schedules, method statements, and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).
- Coordinate and manage contractor mobilization to site, including laydown and storage areas.
- Facilitate issuance of necessary permits and gate passes as requested by contractors.
- Inspect, test, and verify completed project works, and coordinate pre-commissioning inspections and testing activities.
- Initiate Mechanical Completion Certificates.
- Monitor the completion and close-out of all punch list items.
- Review and endorse red-line markups and "as-built" drawings.
- Participate in project handover, acceptance activities, and commissioning of facilities.
- Review and endorse Construction Dossiers for assigned projects.
- Support workforce development initiatives by ensuring employees receive appropriate job training and professional development opportunities.
