Construction Supervisor (Mechanical)
Location: Mesaieed, Qatar
Sector: Oil & Gas (Midstream / Downstream)

Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor (Mechanical) to support the construction, installation, inspection, testing, and pre-commissioning phases of a major Oil & Gas project.

Requirements:

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
  • Formal QA/QC functional training
  • Minimum 10 years' experience in Oil & Gas construction projects
  • Proven experience in Static and Rotating Equipment Installation
  • Experience coordinating inspections during Midstream and/or Downstream facility construction of Oil and Gas 
  • Mandatory experience as an EPIC Contractor Supervisor
  • Experience as a Client or PMC Supervisor preferred
  • Strong knowledge of international standards and specifications including ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, NFPA, Shell DEP and related industry codes
  • Experience with FAT, equipment alignment, inspection activities, pressure testing, punch list management, mechanical completion and pre-commissioning
  • Extensive knowledge of coating systems including painting, galvanizing, wrapping, insulation and related preservation requirements
  • Experience working in Greenfield and Brownfield environments
  • Strong understanding of PTW, LOTO, tie-ins to live facilities, construction testing and commissioning interfaces
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, mechanical drawings and manufacturer documentation. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise static and rotating equipment installation activities
  • Coordinate inspections, RFIs and testing activities
  • Monitor contractor compliance with approved procedures, specifications and project requirements
  • Support mechanical completion, punch close-out and pre-commissioning activities
  • Interface with QA/QC, HSE, vendors and project stakeholders to ensure safe and quality execution of work.
