Construction Supervisor (Mechanical)
Location: Mesaieed, Qatar
Sector: Oil & Gas (Midstream / Downstream)
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor (Mechanical) to support the construction, installation, inspection, testing, and pre-commissioning phases of a major Oil & Gas project.
Requirements:
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (mandatory)
- Formal QA/QC functional training
- Minimum 10 years' experience in Oil & Gas construction projects
- Proven experience in Static and Rotating Equipment Installation
- Experience coordinating inspections during Midstream and/or Downstream facility construction of Oil and Gas
- Mandatory experience as an EPIC Contractor Supervisor
- Experience as a Client or PMC Supervisor preferred
- Strong knowledge of international standards and specifications including ASME, ANSI, API, ISO, NFPA, Shell DEP and related industry codes
- Experience with FAT, equipment alignment, inspection activities, pressure testing, punch list management, mechanical completion and pre-commissioning
- Extensive knowledge of coating systems including painting, galvanizing, wrapping, insulation and related preservation requirements
- Experience working in Greenfield and Brownfield environments
- Strong understanding of PTW, LOTO, tie-ins to live facilities, construction testing and commissioning interfaces
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, mechanical drawings and manufacturer documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise static and rotating equipment installation activities
- Coordinate inspections, RFIs and testing activities
- Monitor contractor compliance with approved procedures, specifications and project requirements
- Support mechanical completion, punch close-out and pre-commissioning activities
- Interface with QA/QC, HSE, vendors and project stakeholders to ensure safe and quality execution of work.
