Construction Supervisor (Mechanical) - Qatar

We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Supervisor (Mechanical) for a major Oil & Gas project in Qatar.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Formal QA/QC training is preferred.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in static and rotating equipment installation within midstream/downstream Oil & Gas facilities.
  • Experience as an EPIC Contractor Supervisor is essential.
  • Experience in Qatar or other GCC countries is required.
  • Strong knowledge of international codes and standards such as ASME, ANSI, ISO, API, NFPA, and SHELL DEP.
  • Experience in:

    • Static & Rotating Equipment Installation
    • FAT, Alignment & Inspection
    • Pressure Testing
    • Pre-Commissioning Activities
    • Mechanical Completion & Punch List Closure
    • Coating, Painting, Galvanizing, Wrapping, Insulation & Refractory Systems
    • Greenfield and Brownfield Projects
    • Permit to Work (PTW), LOTO, and Live Plant Tie-ins
    • Lifting Plans and Crane Studies

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise static and rotating equipment installation and inspection activities in accordance with approved engineering documents and project schedules.
  • Review construction documentation including Method Statements, JHAs, and material approvals.
  • Attend RFIs and ensure construction activities comply with approved ITPs and quality standards.
  • Lead and coordinate contractors on all mechanical installation activities.
  • Manage FATs, alignment inspections, pressure testing, pre-commissioning, reinstatement, and mechanical completion activities.
  • Conduct site inspections, monitor work progress, and ensure compliance with contractual, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Support PSSR activities, startup preparations, and operations interface activities.
  • Review and contribute to as-built documentation and project handover requirements.
  • Ensure strict compliance with HSE regulations and Permit to Work procedures.

Skills

  • Strong leadership, communication, coordination, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, GA Drawings, Equipment Layouts, Structural Drawings, and Manufacturer Manuals.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and relevant engineering software.
