Contracts Advisor | Maintenance Contracts (Oil & Gas)

A leading energy operator is seeking an experienced Contracts Advisor to manage a portfolio of maintenance contracts supporting critical asset operations. This is a key role focused on contract governance, contractor performance, commercial stewardship, and ensuring maintenance services are delivered safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of maintenance contracts, working closely with Maintenance, Supply Chain, Contracting, Operations, Turnarounds, and Site teams. The role requires a commercially astute professional who can build strong contractor relationships, drive performance improvements, and ensure contractual arrangements support operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the overall performance, governance, and administration of maintenance contracts within your portfolio.
  • Develop and implement contract strategies that improve safety, operational performance, contractor productivity, and cost efficiency.
  • Drive contractor performance through KPI monitoring, governance reviews, performance incentives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Facilitate contractor performance meetings, service reviews, and governance forums.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with contractors, asset teams, and key internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure contractor compliance with HSE requirements and operational excellence standards.
  • Provide commercial and financial stewardship, including cost control, budget tracking, invoice verification, and contract reporting.
  • Lead pre-award and post-award contract administration activities, including bid strategy development, tender evaluation, negotiations, approvals, amendments, and governance documentation.
  • Support maintenance and turnaround activities by ensuring appropriate commercial arrangements and contractor resources are in place.
  • Maintain accurate, auditable, and compliant contract documentation and records.
  • Identify opportunities to improve contract outcomes, reduce costs, and enhance contractor performance.

About You

You are a highly organised and commercially focused contracts professional with strong stakeholder engagement capabilities and experience managing maintenance or operational service contracts in complex industrial environments.

Required Experience

  • Significant experience in contract management, procurement, or commercial advisory roles within Oil & Gas, Energy, Mining, or Heavy Industry.
  • Strong understanding of contract lifecycle management, including tendering, negotiations, contract administration, and governance.
  • Proven experience managing contractor performance, KPIs, service delivery, and commercial outcomes.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, cost control, invoice verification, and contract reporting.
  • Ability to effectively influence and engage stakeholders across Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain, Projects, and Site leadership teams.
