About the Role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Contracts Adviser to support end-to-end contracting and procurement activities within a dynamic project environment. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you will play a key role in delivering commercially sound contracting outcomes, managing contract lifecycle activities, mitigating risk, and ensuring compliance with relevant governance frameworks.
This role will suit a contracts professional who enjoys stakeholder engagement, commercial negotiations, contract development, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end contract lifecycle activities from sourcing strategy through to contract award and post-award support.
- Lead tendering activities including bid evaluations, negotiations, recommendations, and contract award processes.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and forecast future demand.
- Support the development of scopes of work and facilitate technical tender evaluation processes.
- Provide commercial and contractual guidance to contract owners and project stakeholders.
- Support post-award contract management activities, supplier performance management, and contract variations.
- Assist with category management and strategic sourcing initiatives across multiple spend categories.
- Manage procurement and contracting approvals through relevant governance frameworks.
- Ensure contracting activities comply with applicable legislation, policies, and business requirements.
- Support initiatives relating to local content, ethical sourcing, supplier diversity, and sustainability objectives.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience managing end-to-end contracting activities within the energy, resources, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies, tendering processes, contract development, negotiation, and contract administration.
- Experience working with various contract models such as EPC, EPCM, fabrication, rates-based, or construction contracts.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to analyse procurement and spend data to support sourcing and category management decisions.
- Experience reviewing contract terms, preparing commercial clarifications, and supporting contract negotiations.
- Exposure to claims management, dispute resolution, and commercial risk mitigation.
- Experience using SAP, Ariba, Contract Lifecycle Management Systems (CLMS), or similar procurement platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree qualification in Commerce, Law, Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualifications in Procurement and Supply Chain Management (e.g. CIPS) highly regarded.
