A leading energy company is seeking a highly experienced Contracts Analyst- Subsea to support a major offshore development project based in Houston. This Contracts Analyst- Subsea opportunity sits within a Projects Supply Chain environment and will play a key commercial role across complex subsea procurement activity, with a focus on SPS and SURF packages.
The Contracts Analyst- Subsea will be responsible for developing and executing procurement plans and contracting strategies aligned to project schedule, budget, execution strategy and risk profile. This position offers the chance to contribute directly to a technically demanding offshore development while working closely with project, engineering, legal, finance and operations stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Lead end-to-end sourcing activities for major subsea packages, including market engagement, bidder prequalification, RFI, RFP and ITT preparation, commercial bid evaluation, clarification, negotiation and award recommendation
Develop procurement plans and contract strategies for Subsea Production System (SPS) and Subsea Umbilicals, Risers and Flowlines (SURF) packages
Build commercial models and contract terms for complex offshore scopes including FEED/EPCI, equipment supply, fabrication, marine transportation, installation, commissioning support and long-term services
Evaluate interfaces across FPSO, SPS, SURF, drilling and completions, logistics and operations scopes
Support clear allocation of battery limits, free-issue items, title and risk transfer, warranties, schedule dependencies and liabilities
Draft, review and administer contracts using Ariba, Icertis and SAP
Partner with cross-functional teams to manage scope, risk, deviations, claims, change orders, supplier performance and contract close-out
Provide market intelligence, cost and commercial benchmarking, bid normalization, total-cost analysis, savings tracking and award documentation for major offshore packages
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, Law, Finance or a related discipline
At least 12 years of recent experience in supply chain, contracts or commercial roles supporting major oil and gas, offshore or comparable capital projects
Strong direct SCM experience in subsea developments, including SPS and SURF packages
Demonstrated exposure to SPS equipment such as trees, wellheads, controls, manifolds and tie-in systems and/or SURF scopes such as umbilicals, risers, flowlines, export systems, marine installation and pre-commissioning
Proven experience leading complex, high-value tenders and negotiations with EPCI contractors, subsea equipment suppliers, fabrication yards and/or offshore installation contractors
Strong working knowledge of commercial risk allocation, contracting strategy, bid normalisation, price escalation, schedule incentives and remedies, warranties, liabilities and performance security
Experience working across international projects and multidisciplinary teams
Fluency in written and spoken English
Experience with Ariba and SAP; Icertis experience is advantageous
Strong commercial judgement with the ability to translate technical execution issues into clear contractual positions and risk-adjusted recommendations
Advanced analytical capability, including commercial evaluation, cost benchmarking, scenario analysis and executive-level reporting
Strong stakeholder management, negotiation and cross-functional collaboration skills
High level of organisation, ownership and disciplined document control
Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications and commercial data analysis
Preferred:
Experience in Mexico, Gulf of Mexico or other deepwater developments
PMP, CIPS, CPSM, CPCM or equivalent professional certification
