Job Title: Contracts Specialist III
Duration: 6-month contract
Schedule: Onsite (Monday through Thursday); remote on Fridays
Location: Houston, TX

This opportunity supports the drafting, review and negotiation of energy trading agreements covering physical power and natural gas transactions. The role sits within a fast-paced commercial environment and focuses on balancing contractual risk, regulatory compliance and business objectives. This position will be well suited to professionals with strong EEI, Gas NAESB and NGL NAESB negotiation experience, alongside sound knowledge of energy commodities and derivatives markets.

Required Experience:

  • Recent hands-on experience negotiating and managing EEI Master Agreements, Gas NAESB Agreements and NGL NAESB Agreements.
  • Current or very recent experience within the energy industry, supporting physical power, natural gas, and financially and/or physically settled commodity transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate contractual terms independently while balancing commercial objectives and risk management requirements.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing and managing related amendments, assignments, novations and ancillary agreements.
  • Experience maintaining agreement databases, tracking workflows and managing contract records.

Required Skills:

  • Strong understanding of legal, credit, compliance and operational risks associated with energy trading agreements.
  • Ability to analyse legal language, identify contractual risks and recommend practical solutions.
  • Knowledge of Dodd-Frank requirements and their impact on energy trading contracts.
  • Strong contract drafting, document management and contract control capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5+ years of directly relevant contracts experience.
  • Experience supporting energy trading, marketing or commercial organisations.
  • Experience working with ISDA Agreements, EEI Agreements, Gas and NGL NAESB Agreements, industry general terms and conditions, assignments and novations.
  • Ability to onboard quickly and contribute with minimal training.
