This opportunity sits within a multi-discipline Core Engineering Team providing engineering and construction oversight during the FEED and EPC phases of base load natural gas liquefaction and LNG export plant projects. The role focuses on delivering safe, reliable, and cost-effective control system solutions across distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, fire and gas detection systems, communication systems, safety systems, and process control systems. This position offers exposure to complex project delivery, design review, construction monitoring, startup, and commissioning activities in a highly technical project environment.
Required Experience:
Experience overseeing control system design and delivery for projects to ensure systems are safe, reliable, and cost-effective to build, operate, and maintain
Experience within FEED and EPC project phases in an engineering and construction environment
Experience with base load natural gas liquefaction or LNG export plant projects
Experience supporting construction, startup, and commissioning activities
Experience participating in process hazard analysis, HAZOPs, and other formal hazard assessments
Experience managing design changes through a management of change process for instrumentation, controls, communication, safety protection systems, and plant modifications
Required Skills:
Strong familiarity with standard industry control system designs and practices
Technical knowledge of distributed control systems, programmable logic controllers, fire and gas detection systems, communication systems, safety systems, and process control systems
Ability to review and comment on basis of design documents, design criteria, design philosophies, project specifications, drawings, data sheets, and related design documentation
Ability to provide engineering design recommendations and monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with applicable design codes, standards, regulations, and guides
Ability to assess instrumentation and controls drawings and specifications for acceptability, compliance, and optimization opportunities
Strong commitment to safety and awareness of applicable controls and instrumentation industry codes and standards
Ability to respond to technical queries and formal requests for information and verify final design documents are ready for project turnover
Ability to support training for operations and maintenance personnel on newly implemented technologies
