Location: Truganina VIC + site-based work across Australia
Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Controls & Automation Engineer to deliver end to end electrical and automation solutions across major industrial and material handling projects. This is a handson role covering the full project lifecycle—from design and programming through to testing, commissioning, and startup—working closely with internal teams and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  •     Design, develop, program, and modify PLC software using Siemens and Allen Bradley (Rockwell) platforms
  •     Develop PLC logic, HMI interfaces, and communication links between PLCs and SCADA systems
  •     Configure and integrate automation equipment including motors, VFDs, encoders, and sensors
  •     Support shop-floor testing, on-site installation, start-up, and commissioning activities
  •     Provide technical guidance and support to technicians during installation and commissioning
  •     Participate in remote support activities for troubleshooting and system optimization
  •     Coordinate proactively with project managers, engineers, technicians, suppliers, and site personnel

What you'll need to have

  •      Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Electronics, or a related discipline
  •      4+ years’ experience in automation design, PLC programming, and commissioning
  •      Proven delivery of automation projects within material handling, manufacturing, process, packing lines, or machine-building environments
  •      Strong experience with Siemens and/or Rockwell PLC, HMI, and VFD systems
  •      Ability to read and produce electrical drawings, ideally using EPLAN
  •      Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders
