Job Title: Cost Control Lead

This opportunity offers a key position supporting a major onshore project within the oil and gas sector. The role focuses on cost control, cost stewardship, allocation planning, and standardised reporting across EPC contracts, with strong visibility across project phases and business functions. This position will suit professionals who can provide expert guidance, improve procedures, and support effective project cost management in a complex delivery environment.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Commercial, Marketing, Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Law, Communication, Technologies, Mathematics, or Statistics.
Required Experience:
- Eight years of experience in a business-related function or discipline.
- At least four years of experience within the oil and gas industry.
- At least one year of supervisory, acting leadership, or contractor oversight experience.
- Previous experience on major projects from an owner’s perspective.
- Experience managing EPC lump sum contracts.
- Experience working with oil and gas companies, EPC contractors, subcontractors, vendors, or service companies involved in the sector.
- Experience working with multilingual contract teams and large local subcontractors.
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in cost control, including allocation, planning, stewardship of costs, and expenditure management.
- Ability to develop and modify procedures, guidelines, flow charts, and standard cost reporting processes to meet project requirements.
- Knowledge of project business disciplines such as planning, scheduling, estimating, claim management, risk management, change management, procurement, and pre- and post-award contract management.
- Capability to produce actionable and informative reporting to support project delivery.
- Experience working with ERP systems and project management systems such as SAP or other oil and gas ERP platforms.
- Ability to mentor developes and work effectively across complex project teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of company practices, processes, and expectations related to cost controls.
